AJ RUIZ

AJ is an actor freshly based in New York City. He’s at his best when performing off-beat characters that are either comically oblivious or profoundly anguished.

AJ’s been on regional theatre stages (Cleveland Play House, Miami New Drama, Juggerknot Theatre) and, most recently, NBC’s Chicago Med as a Guest Star. His independent film work has been screened and awarded in several national festivals.

A man dressed in a blue and yellow striped blazer, light blue pants, and a cardigan, kneeling on one knee with both arms extended outward, smiling. He's in a room with Wood-paneled walls, a clock showing 11:59, and vintage lighting.
A woman in a pink dress and fishnet stockings reclining on a green sofa, with a man in a blue jacket, striped pants, and rubber boots sitting beside her, touching her face.
A man dressed in black, wearing chains and a scarf, performing on stage with a dramatic expression, extending his left arm out.
A man dressed as Shakespeare in a theatrical production, kneeling on the ground with one arm resting on a stone, wearing a dark, elaborate costume with gold accents, a patterned scarf, and knee-high boots, with a distressed expression.

MUSIC

AJ has combined the home-recording indie ethos with loud and disturbing imagery to produce Adult Programming, a post-punky hyper theatrical solo project.

For his debut EP, AJ got the opportunity to work with, indie pop legend and personal hero, Kevin Barnes from of Montreal.
